All tournament participants are required to read the rules, so they would not ask unnecessary questions.
Currently running: SC2 Baltic Cup 03 (2010 Nov.).
Briefly about the tournament
StarCraft II Baltic Cup tournament is going to progress through the year. The tournament will continue in stages which will happen each month, in those stages the players will be accumulating victory points. In the Final new year’s stage 4 players who are going to have most points will duke it out for the title of the Baltic Champion of StarCraft II of the year.
Currently, only players from the Baltic Countries (a.k.a. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) are eligible to participate in this tournament.
The tournament itself is going to be quite flexible, since the players won’t have to participate in every stage, victory points being the most important factor if you want to get into the finals of the tournament.
Tournament types: for all of the 1v1 leagues we will have Single Elimination type in which the players will have no other chance to getting back into the tournament after their loss. All matches (incl. semifinals and match for the 3rd place) shall be BO3, with finals being played in a BO5 fashion.
Duration: 3 to 4 weeks for each stage.
Leagues of the tournament
Tournament will be divided in three different leagues. This will allow players with less StarCraft II experience to compete among players of their own skill.
1v1 league A: Diamond league players will compete in this league.
1v1 league B: Platinum league players will compete in this league.
1v1 league C: Gold, Silver and Bronze players will compete in this league.

Tournament table
Players (teams) will be added into the table randomly, however, we shall also use the seeding method, where the strongest players will be dispersed into separate branches of the table, in order to avoid the early elimination of the best players due to the random placements into the table.
If we will have an odd number of players (teams), the participant(s) who will not have an opponent(s) will be automatically transferred into the second round. He will not receive any victory points, however.
General Rules of the Tournament
In need, it is possible to change your race when the tournament has begun, however, don’t forget to inform us about it in order to avoid any organizational problems.
Don’t forget the basic StarCraft etiquette, like a GL HF in the beginning of the match and of course a GG in the end.
Each round will be given a deadline by which the players will have to arrange and play the matches between him/her and his/hers opponent. It is up to the players to find each other online on battle.net and arrange the match – if you are having trouble finding your opponent, let us, the Judges, know and we will try to find your opponent ourselves or set you up with a game against a backup player.
If some matches will not be played before the official deadline, winner will be the player who will be in battle.net at that time, in this situation you must contact one of the judges in order for them to confirm this.
For leagues B and C: all Losers Bracket games should be played in 3 days from the moment both opponents are set.
The moment you will find out who your opponent in the next round is you will be able to immediately arrange the fight with one another
Game speed: Faster (standard SC2 online match speed)
No observers/spectators during the matches. This way we’ll avoid any network problems and/or cheating.
All matches (incl. semifinals and match for the 3rd place) will be BO3, finals – BO5. Matches are played until the result and the winner of it is clear.
The winner of the match will have to e-mail the replays to sc2replays [at] BalticGamers.com. Please name the replays following the example:
BalticCup003-Arew(P)-vs-kYem(T)-01-Lost-Temple.SC2Replay
BalticCup003-Arew(P)-vs-kYem(T)-02-Xel’Naga-Caverns.SC2Replay
Important: not submitting replays in time, will result in not receiving any points for the victory!
Disconnects. If there is a disconnect in the first 3 minutes of the game and there has been no in-game battles between the players, then the game will be restarted. If the problem occurs constantly then a Judge should be contacted. In other cases of disconnect:
a) if disconnected player at that point had an advantage, match should be replayed;
b) if disconnected player didn’t have an advantage at that point, he will get default loss.
If a game is restarted players must choose the same map and the same races.
1v1 Maps
First map is always Lost Temple, next map will be chosen by the looser of the last match. Players cannot choose the map which has already been played once.
Map choice: Lost Temple, Shakuras Plateau, Metalopolis, Blistering Sands, Delta Quadrant, Xel’Naga Caverns, Jungle Basin, Scrap Station, Steppes of War.
Replays and VOD’s
All the replays will be up for download after the tournament has ended. Video commentaries will be made based upon the people who are willing and able to do them
Our thanks go to
